It was summer of 2002, Jake and I were sitting on his boat, in the canal at 8 am. I said, you know we have such a good time doing this, we should start filming us hunting and fishing, and put out a video every year. He said, yea, and why don't we call it Beast Outdoors...and that's it, no amazing story, no flare, no punch-lines.
A simple conversation has really turned our lives upside down with creating this business (in a good way). We have learned so much, met so many great people, and have come so far (as those of you know who have seen our first couple videos). Beast Outdoors is about getting out in the woods, with friends and family, and spending time together. I know you hear that alot, but it's so true. As many of you know who watch our videos, we do not trophy hunt and we do not hunt million dollar ranches, but one thing is for sure, we sure do have fun! From sitting in a tree on a cold, fall, October morning, to sitting around a campfire, eating back straps with the guys! We are just a bunch of average guys, who bust chops, hunt hard, and make fun of the guy in camp who blew his chance at the "big one". For those who have not seen our videos, I encourage you to check us out. We are not like all the others on television, for many reasons. We are like the kids down at the local baseball diamond, playing hard, having fun, and actually enjoying the game for what it is. Some people get to a level where they lose sight of why we do this, and what hunting really means. We are a small local business who has not, and never will lose sight of what hunting is all about. Yes, we receive criticism for some of the smaller critters we take. But to us the trophy is in the eye of the beholder. We shoot our "smaller" game and we call all our friends to tell the story, and we sit around the fire admiring the kill, and enjoy the dinners that the animal has provided for our families. This is why we do it, it is not the antler or the beard that makes a good hunt, it is the experience. Every hunter has their own reason why they hunt, and if the reason is to harvest a trophy animal, or get big antlers to show off....That's ok! I can fully appreciate that too!! No matter your reasoning, no matter where you hunt, or why you hunt, we all need to stick together. Hunter numbers across the country are declining every year, and it's up to us to keep our passion alive.
If you have made it this far on this page, I have to apologize, I usually am not this long-winded. But thank you for taking the time to look at our web-site, and hopefully you can check out some of the products we offer here at BeastOutdoors.com, and enjoy them. We are always looking for your feedback, send us a note to BeastOutdoors@Yahoo.com. Again, Thank you and hunt safe!
