If you know what Lumenok's are than you know as well as we do that if you are going in the woods without them...you are decreasing your odds of success!  Not only do the lumenok's allow you to see your arrows flight, but also lets you see where you hit your target, helps you find your arrow after the shot, and helps you properly tune your bow by showing any errors in arrow flight. 
Here at Beast Outdoors, especially being in the video business, do not allow our guys to be in the field without them!  Lumenok's are among the few products we endorse, due to their reliability. 
Since we have been involved with Lumenok, there has been two areas of concern that have been brought to our attention...I am going to address them both.

1. "Lumenoks are to expensive" - Yes you are going to pay about $10.00 each for them.  Now let's take a look at this...In the past 365 days, I have shot arrows in my backyard, at bowshoots, at turkey, squirrel's, and deer.  And yes some of those arrows missed their mark and soared away.  If it was not for the Lumenok on some of these misses, not only would I have lost my arrow ($10), and my broadhead ($10)...so to justify this I spent $10.00 in order to save $20.00 in this instance.  Now imagine the last few minutes of shooting light, you shoot a deer and are unsure of the placement...do you get down and start looking for it now?  Or do you wait until the next morning?  With the Lumenok you could have seen the placement much better, and without knowing where you hit your deer, you could make the wrong decision on what to do next.  So again $10.00 could potentially be the difference between you finding your trophy or not!  The new Lumenoks also come with a detachable battery, now you can just replace the battery instead of buying a new Lumenok!

2. "They don't always work" - I agree.  But here is the reason why.  99.9% of the time it is human error.  You either bought the wrong Lumenok for your arrows, or did not square them off properly (Smart Tool).  The only time they will let you down is if the battery dies.  I have shot more than 3,000 arrows in 2010, not once did a Lumenok not work!!
